Urban Harvest
Saturday, March 20, 2010
Time: 9:00am - 12:00pm
Location: 3355 S. Purdue in Oklahoma City
An urban agricultural program of the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, Urban Harvest is designed to make fresh fruits and vegetables available to hungry Oklahomans and increase food security. On March 20th we are going to help Urban Harvest with planting seeds in the greenhouse, planting crops or if you like, learning and assisting with composting. This is an amazing program that helps the less fortunate in Oklahoma enjoy fresh fruits and vegetable as opposed to only canned and packaged goods. According to the USDA, health problems from insufficient fruit and vegetable consumption are responsible for 2.7 million deaths a year.
